Karadzic’s Arrest Highlights Psychiatry’s History Of Ethnic Cleansing

The capture of former Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic will bring to justice a psychiatrist whose genocide of thousands was reminiscent of Nazi psychiatric crimes during World War II, and that few people are aware that the "ethnic cleansing" -- ridding a geographical area of racially "inferior" people - carried out in Bosnia-Herzegovina, and later in Kosovo, was based on the same psychiatric-inspired racial hygiene programmes that led to the Nazi Holocaust.

In 1992, CCHR formally submitted to the World Psychiatric Association, the World Federation for Mental Health and the Mental Health Division of the World Health Organisation information concerning the psychiatric atrocities committed in the region formerly called Yugoslavia.

CCHR presented the same information about psychiatry’s role in initiating and conducting the "ethnic cleansing" atrocities in Bosnia-Herzegovina to the United Nations Commission on Human Rights.

On September 1, 1999, members of the Council of Europe signed a Resolution, "Human suffering and degradation following ethnic cleansing," that recognised the two psychiatrists as "the architects of the ethnic cleansing campaign" in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia and Serbia.

Illinois Shooter was &quotTreated&quot with Psych Drugs Prior to Shooting Rampage

Illinois Shooter was Treated with Psych Meds Prior to Shooting Rampage
by Mike Adams (see all articles by this author)

(NaturalNews) It comes as no surprise to anyone who's been following school shootings all the way back to the Colombine High massacre in Colorado: Every young, male shooter that has gone on a killing spree in the United States also has a history of treatment with psychotropic drugs -- typically SSRI antidepressants. These shootings have three things in common: 1) The shooters are young males. 2) The shooters exhibit a mind-numbed disconnect with reality. 3) The shooters have a history of taking psychiatric medications.

This latest shooting by 27-year-old Stephen Kazmierczak shares the same three factors. Stephen was considered a "normal, undistressed person," according to press reports. He was considered "an outstanding student" and even received a Dean's Award for outstanding work in sociology. So what happened to Stephen's brain that caused him to snap and open fire on students in a college classroom?

link to full article

The psychiatric watchdog, Citizens Commission on Human Rights, says the July 2008 Vermont Attorney General report revealing psychiatrists again top the list of doctors receiving Pharma payments, coupled with recent investigations into Pharma funds influencing psychiatric drug studies, prescribing patterns and the creation of new mental “disorders,” merits a federal investigation for conflicts of interest that is long overdue. The organization created a new website containing recent reports, disclosures, documents and videos exposing the major conflicts of interest between psychiatry and the Pharmaceutical industry called PsychConflicts.org, The Unholy Alliance.

Learn more about the unholy alliance between psychiatry and Pharma by visiting PsychConflicts.org

Exposed: Harvard Shrink Gets Rich Labelling Kids Bipolar

What Dick Cheney is to the U.S. invasion of Iraq, psychiatrist Joseph Biederman is to the explosion of psychiatric medications in American children. Recently, Biederman was nailed by congressional investigators and the New York Times for overestimating just how greedy an elite shrink is entitled to be. Beyond a peek into the corruption of psychiatry at its highest levels, the scandal is an opportunity to reconsider the Big Pharma financed view of why kids become disruptive and destructive.

On June 8, 2008, the New York Times reported the following about Joseph Biederman: "A world-renowned Harvard child psychiatrist whose work has helped fuel an explosion in the use of powerful anti-psychotic medicines in children earned at least $1.6 million in consulting fees from drug makers from 2000 to 2007 but for years did not report much of this income to university officials, according to information given congressional investigators."

link to full article

link to book Commonsense Rebellion...

<a href=http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_b/105-0081964-3009266?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=Surviving+America's+Depression+Epidemic:+How+to+Find+Morale,+Energy,+and+Community+in+a+World+Gone+Crazy&x=0&y=0 target="_blank"> link to book ...World Gone Crazy

Like Dr. Biederman, Dr. Wilens belatedly reported earning at least $1.6 million from 2000 to 2007, and another Harvard colleague, Dr. Thomas Spencer, reported earning at least $1 million after being pressed by Mr. Grassley's investigators. But even these amended disclosures may understate the researchers' outside income because some entries contradict payment information from drug makers, Mr. Grassley found.

The Harvard group's consulting arrangements with drug makers were already controversial because of the researchers' advocacy of unapproved uses of psychiatric medicines in children.

link to full article

Government advisors recommend &quotfood for the brain&quot campaign:

A significant contributor to the increasing rate of crime, aggression, depression and poor school performance is poor nutrition. That’s the conclusion of the inquiry held by the Parliamentary Food and Health Forum, who issue a report urging for government to fund a campaign to research, increase awareness, and encourage us to eat more fish and whole foods, high in essential fats, vitamins and minerals.

The Parliamentary Food and Health Forum want more money spent on researching the link between diet, nutritional supplements and mental health; doctors to be better educated; mental health patients to be checked for nutritional deficiencies as a first line procedure on the NHS; and government funded healthy breakfast clubs at schools; government campaigns promoting the importance of optimum nutrition for mental health.
Patrick Holford, director of the educational charity, Food for the Brain says: “Less than half a percent of all money for medical research is spent on nutrition largely because there are no patented, profitable drugs at the end of it. Most doctors today have virtually no training in this area and simply don’t know that improving diet and supplementing specific nutrients often works as well, if not better than drugs for treating depression and mental illness. We welcome this report, which fairly and squarely recommends that government should put more money where our mouths are."

article link

Big Pharma’s biotech shift means layoffs for chemists

Big Pharma’s biotech shift means layoffs for chemists

December 11, 2007

Looking back, 2007 will perhaps be remembered as the year Big Pharma moved away from chemical-based drugs and fully embraced the biologics revolution. AstraZeneca, Sanofi, and (most notably) Pfizer--among many others--have announced sweeping changes that involve boosting investment in biotech drugs. The shift is due to a number of factors. Many of the world’s biggest blockbuster drugs are coming off patent in the next few years, and there aren’t many pharmaceuticals in the pipelines to replace them; Generics are expected to cut $67 billion from top drug makers' annual U.S. sales between 2007 and 2012. Additional, biologics are far less susceptible to the generic competition that’s chipping away at Big Pharma’s bottom line...

article link
